Hi Father! Thanks for blogging. I agree that spending time with the Word makes such a difference…I’m a busy, working single mom of three great kids. There are times when I find myself overwhelmed and cranky! (Who doesn’t?) I find a quiet, comfortable peace when I take a few moments to spend with the Lord. It’s such REST. And He always leads me to just what I need to read. He’s so Awesome like that! Have a great night!
Judy,
It’s great that you take that time to spend in quiet with the Lord. We can all get cranky; that’s why we need to break away once in a while.
Peace!
Many thanks for your website, Father! I subscribed to it this past fall & look forward to your posts, some of which I’ve shared w/other friends & family members.
” The way we change is allowing God to change us” – powerful words Fr Mike. I look forward to another great year of your insights and inspiration – Happy New Year 2012!!
…in AA we Alcoholics learn that the necessary first step for meaningfull change, assuming the prerequisite that we have a desire to be freed,is an admission and Acquiescence of our Powerlessness over whatever it is that has us bound…
Yes…the twelve steps are very powerful. All of us can learn from them. It’s only when we admit our powerlessness that we can experience God’s power in us. Thanks for commenting.
This is an Awesome site which really helps me to grow spritually. The enthusiastic and encouraging words of Fr. Mike are praise worthy that I can not but follow the simple steps you tell us to come closer to us and live a Christ centered life.
Thank you for this blog, this is one of the best Catholic sites.
Thank you for your website ~ please pray for me
