The Priestly Life

I’m so blessed to be the chaplain of the largest Catholic high school in Rhode Island.  The administration, faculty, staff, and students are wonderful.  Here’s a video that was done by a student at La Salle.  It’s sort of “A Day in the life of…”

I hope you enjoy it, not so much because I’m in it, but because it speaks of the beauty and importance of the priesthood.

Nice little video Fr. Mike! I am posting it on our Serra Club of Augusta fb page to share. Are you all getting ready for Ordinations up there? We will have ours on June 4th and are looking forward to being present for such an amazing ceremony. We have two young men being ordained this year, one is Polish and the other Hispanic. Have a great summer!

PS: at first I thought the narrator of the video was Oprah! The voice sounded just like hers, he .. he ..

I have a dog that I am really attached to. If you are thinking of getting a dog does that mean that the human dog bond is OK to feel. I am afraid that it is a sin to get to attached to a dog. Can you give me some feedback. I guess I should read about St Francis. Didn’t he love animals.

I think it’s totally okay to be love and be attached to your dog. Growing up, we always had a dog in the house. I love dogs, and hopefully will get my own someday. They are God’s creatures…and a beloved creature indeed!

Sandy…thanks for visiting. I haven’t been blogging much of late. Of course, you’re more than welcome to share anything I put on here with your readers.

What an excellent video! Came across your blog via spiritdaily.com and took a moment to watch, listen, and learn of your enthusiasm for your vocation. Furhermore, to know you were touched by the medjugore experience makes me wonder why it’s not approved if you and millions of others were and are being drawn to Christ. That’s a head shaker. Let’s just pray it’s approved. I pray for priests daily. I hope your students will too pray for you and Gods soilders. That IS what you are. God bless you
